Bring out the Champagne and Send out That Resumé

This post is another "Good News, Bad News" story. The good news is that God seems to have heard the angst of my previous post, and answered. I no longer have to work with the company Prima Donna - Hurray! (No, I wasn't fired).

The not so encouraging news? She has just been promoted in an unbelievable 3 grade jump to the General Manager position in Pan Asia. Shocking. I almost fell over my chair when I heard it. Impact of the news? My colleague was so upset and disappointed with the selection process that he wanted to send a letter of complaint to management on the selection process.

The company Prima Donna only had 2 launches in her sector, all done by the country managers and not herself, and her sector figures were way below target. But no one checked on that when recommending her for the job. And her application for the job was approved based on recmmendation by our Vice President who only heard and saw the presentation of her programs but never actually saw the implementation plan or figures.

That solicits questions on what kind of management I have in my company, and what exactly I'm working my behind off for. Sadly, I couldn't live with myself if I were to conduct my professional life like the Prima Donna, and I don't fancy not being rewarded for my hard work. Guess its time to start passing out my resumé.
