As apple enthusiasts await the availability of the iPhone in their respective markets, MS geeks are out creating prank ads of their "new product" that will beat the iPhone hands down - hence the birth of the oPhone.

Watch the video here. Whilst the video is funny at how far fetched the oPhone prank goes - one gets the feeling that this could be Microsoft's way of giving tribute to the iPhone. It is so good that the only phone that can beat it is an imaginary one...

Its finally here!! The much awaited iPhone, thought by many to be a mere rumor, is finally released by Apple in an announcement. Not to disappoint, the iPhone is a combination of a cell phone, iPod and Blackberry device all in one! It plays music, widescreen movies, surfs the net, checks yur email, yada yada yada.

While consumers are waiting in anticipation, the ringtone industry have much to worry about. As the iPhone is an iPod, any song can be used as a ringtone and any photo uploaded to the iPhone can also be used as wallpapers. No more downloading of ringtones and wallpapers from sites of service providers as you can get them from your personal archives of iTunes and photos.

While the ringtone industry won't die overnight, it will definitely shrink as iPhone is the foreleader of future mobiles to come for the next 3-5 years. This will of course depend on the price of the phone that comes with or without contracts with mobile service providers...
