Google's Powerpoint Slideshow Viewer Goes Live

If you are ever at a meeting and had to present something on powerpoint presentation but had your laptop die on you, there might still be hope for you if you have a PDA that can browse the net and is modern enough to connect to a projector.

Just give a call to your colleague to send it to your gmail account, and wallah! you can run the slideshow of your presentation using the newly launched Google Slideshow Viewer and impress your audience with your resourcefulness. Read all about the new Google slideshow viewer here.

Thought balloon: I wonder if the new slideshow viewer will have an impact on the number of Microsoft Powerpoint licenses bought each year?

Google in the Near Future?

Google is such a useful tool that we search everything on it for information nowadays. Well, ALMOST anything... Who knows, in the next 10 or 5 years it might actually be "omniscient"? See below:

Google CEO and Co-Founders ask for $1 annual salary

On CNN Money, it was reported that Google CEO & Co-Founders Eric Schmidt, Larry Page and Sergey Brin asked for annual salaries of $1 for 2007, without any bonuses while other executives got hefty pay raises from 250K per year to 450K per year.

Why can't my bosses be like that? Maybe its time to start searching the job page of google.com.sg for openings...

Google Buys YouTube.com for 1.65 Billion

Ok, so I know this piece of news is late. The press reported this on Oct 10. I saw it on Oct 10. But I only have time to blog about it now, and was reminded of it when catching up on my news. Yes, I'm supposed to be packing. I'm on my break. *grin*

Google seems to be buying over everything these days. Blogger.com and now YouTube. After the shock of Adobe buying over Macromedia, I guess nothing shocks me much anymore. Yes, it shocked me more than Lenovo buying over IBM. Seems like the big guys are choosing to conquer the competition by buying them over. Wonder if that will happen to MY company... *trying to wrap my head around that thought*

Well, as the saying goes, "If you can't beat them, BUY THEM OUT". And how does it relate to you, you ask? There is now a new Google Service called Google Video where you can browse and upload videos just as in YouTube. Convenient tool if you've got a gmail account - upload your video and email it to your gmail contact list.

Blog Googling

So while doing some blog reading, I came across an article that informed me that Google owned Blogger. My jaw almost dropped. That explains a lot. How that now I need to log into blogger beta with my google id & password instead of my original blogger credentials. How dense can I be?

What? You didn't know that too? When did this happen? Well according to reports, Google bought over Blogger as of Feb 2003. What? That was a long time ago? Yes, it was.
